Happy anniversary to us! We spent the day sleeping in, packing, having a picnic at the park where Jeff proposed-packed some more- and then we went out to dinner!  (after which we packed some more...)

Before we packed up our kitchen, I used up some of the last of our eggs to make us an anniversary cake- I also really wanted to make some chocolate frosting :)

This park is where we had our first date and where Jeff proposed. 

 Jeff wanted to reenact his proposal- he didn't like my initial reaction (I just looked at the camera and smiled) so I danced around instead to prove my excitement! lol

Going out to dinner! Please excuse my sunburned skin... we laid out earlier and my skin has been bright red ever since.boo

Happy TWO years of marriage love! Can't wait to see what the next two bring.

Baby Everly

This morning at 3:24 a.m. this hot momma gave birth to one seriously beautiful baby girl.

presenting little miss Everly Jean Corbridge, who came into the world weighing 6lbs 8 oz.

 Isn't she so perfect? It's killing me that I can't be there with Erin and baby Ev right now!

Marriage Tangent

Two years ago I married my very best friend in the Boise, Idaho LDS Temple. (and insert crazy long tangent) Recently I was on a plane headed out from Denver to D.C. and the passenger I was sitting next to saw my ring and asked how old I was and why the heck did I get married so young and that I would regret getting married when I did- she also told me that she couldn't understand why anyone one would get married in a place where all of their family members and friends couldn't attend-she also went on later to tell me that I was dumb for not living with Jeff before we got married (she was engaged and had been living with her fiance for 5 years). ha, I can't lie- I was a little angry! And this was all going down while we were still on the tarmac- great. I told her pretty honestly that Jeff is my best friend and there was nothing I wanted more than to be married to him- but that I would only consider getting married in a LDS temple so that we could be sealed to each other. I told her that if we didn't have the option to be sealed in the temple than I probably wouldn't even be the marrying type- I said that if I was going to commit myself to this relationship and build a life and a family with someone that it had better last forever! (can you imagine if it didn't? ugh. that just wouldn't make sense to me.....but anyway)  I told her that we do have the option to make covenants and be sealed to each other for time and for eternity and that I wanted to make sure my family had the temple at our core. I told her that I wanted my marriage to last beyond death and so we had to keep ourselves worthy to be able to receive these sacred covenants that can only be made when you are sealed in the temple. I told her that I love and trust my husband and that we wanted to get married when we did so that we could incorporate the blessing of the temple into the foundation of our relationship- blessings that will one day bind our children to us.
...and then I took a breath. lol- I'm not so sure where all of my response came from - and I kind of think I came off a little more "screw you-ish" in tone than "love thy neighbor-ish"- but I meant every word and although my testimony of temple marriage is based on faith, everything I said just feels like facts for me. I know that not everyone shares my beliefs- and they don't have to- beliefs about religion and spirituality are extremely personal and everyone really must make their own decisions about what they are going to believe and not believe. I just guess when someone opens the window like that for me to share my beliefs, I basically punch out the screen and jam the window so you can't shut it again until I'm done talking! lol
LUCKILY the lady I was talking to responds well to this kind of approach- she LOVED that I was so direct! (I found out she's an ER doctor and doesn't like beating around the bush) She asked me many more questions about my religion and my thoughts on other issues as well- we ended up having a great plane ride! We also ended up talking about everything wedding - her date was only a month away- and I made her pull out her laptop to show me all of her online inspiration boards and pictures of her gorgeous dress and bridesmaid dresses. I even let her use my iPhone to play angry birds. Things definitely ended up working out! I left the plane feeling like I had made a new friend. We also bonded over living with extremely neat and tidy men who make us feel like slobs whenever we don't put our shoes away.....
Anyways... this post was NOT supposed to be about this- it was supposed to be about our two year anniversary....oh well- it kind of fits right? At least it's a good reminder to me to always be true to myself and to not shy away from seemingly scary conversations. summer

our summer begins in exactly 9 days. and it will be the kind of summer that means being free and not worrying about school or anything else- it will be the kind of summer you had when you were a kid :)

a few months ago in the middle of tax season, volleyball season, and midterms, jeff and i decided we needed a serious break from all of the boring and stressful parts of life. so when we had to make some decisions about our summer, we decided to basically not make any and we just decided to "wing it" for two months before we have to move down to texas .

 best plan ever? uh yeah.

and it seems that our winging it has turned out to include trips to

vegas, newport, slc, boise, lake tahoe, san fransisco, concord, and then boise again

 (i'm also trying to find a way to make it down to hobbs, nm)

jeff's really the best road trip partner ever, so...i'm pretty excited. he generally lets me choose the music- and he really never gets annoyed when we seem to stop every other hour for bathroom breaks-he also doesn't mind driving the whole time-(which is awesome bc we don't have cruise control)

we also just found out that jeff will be in new york and virginia  for a couple of weeks in august.

all that stands in the way between us and our summer is my last week of work and packing!

i think this will be our motto lol- this will be the first time in 10 years that i don't have a job!!!!weird

 i already feel unproductive

i can seeeeeeeee

for the past 6 months my eyesight has been crap. i couldn't see the tv, i couldn't read signs- i couldn't even read the aisle signs at the grocery store without squinting. i've spent this whole time squinting and pretending to see whatever jeff or the people at work were looking at. people were starting to make fun of how close i sat to my computer screen :( 

 i didn't understand why my eyesight had suddenly tanked- i mean, they've always been horrible, but that was all usually fixed with contacts and glasses! 

after i went in to the doctor again, i found out that apparently my eyes are so bad that my brand of contacts (the one my eye doctor's office has a contract with) didn't make a prescription in my power- so the last time i had gone in to get my eyes checked she had just given me the lower power without telling me bc she didn't want to put in a special order and charge me extra for a special brand. oh gee thanks. i don't know about you, but i really don't mind paying to be able to see. and i don't appreciate my doctor  giving me the wrong prescription because she didn't want to use a "brand out of contract"  

but anyways.....

to cut this long boring story about my eyes short, i pretty much demanded she order me the specialized contacts in my prescription- and let me tell you- not having to squint at everything is AMAZING! i walked out of the office and was amazed at all of the detail everywhere! like- i could see every single blade of grass- or all of the leaves on a tree! i felt like a superhero must feel when they first turn into a superhero and all of there senses are heightened. 

moral of this story.

1. i'm getting a new eye doctor

2. don't wait 6 months when it comes to being able to see- being able to see clearly is awesome.

it's all good now. i just can't stop commenting on blades of grass and street signs

A couple weeks ago Jeff and I decided to walk around BYU and take pictures. We're leaving in 2 weeks!!! That's still so crazy- but we wanted to walk around and take pictures of all the places we spent so much time these last 4/5 years- mostly because if our kids end up going to BYU I want to be able to show them these pictures!

This isn't BYU...ha, it's just in front of our house-we love watermelon.

We had to stop at j dawgs- and then we headed over to the wilk, the library and i had jeff pose in front of  the fish bowl. he spends a lot of time here

you can't totally tell but i'm on my "test taker" bench. whenever it wasn't 30 degrees below 0, i would sit on this one bench by the testing center and eat swedish fish while pumping myself up to take a test with 200 other random students 

aww and this is me and my library card! jeff and i both got one the first week we moved into our home- and i've actually used mine tons. i kind of really hope we always live close to a library. they're just great. anyways....  

i should probably be packing (yuck)

two more weeks in utah!!!!!

Well That Didn't Work....

This thing was litterally bubbling and was puffed up like a

giant mushroom cloud......it also smelled really bad......

in other news.....

Jeff and I are LOVING these NBA finals, even though the Lakers didn't make it this year- who knew?ha. They've been fantastic- and we can actually root for a team from a city we'll be living in soon!
