Lazy Weekend

Last Saturday night I fell asleep at 6:00 p.m. -woke up at midnight and watched a movie with Jeff- and then went back to sleep and didn't wake up until noon.
And that pretty much says it all about our weekend :)
On Friday we both took advantage of getting off work/school early and fell asleep the moment we got home. I 'm not sure what it is- but maybe all of these early mornings are finally catching up with us.
Jeff said I was freaking him out again with all of my sleeptalk- something about what's just around the riverbend joined with leggo my eggo?
Guess I dreamed I was a waffle eating Pochahantus from the 90s.

We did get off our bums long enough to walk across the street to get a pizza though lol

our other outing this weekend was a nice little walk behind our complex

sometimes doing nothing is the best way to spend your weekend :)

too good not to share

Jeff and I came across these last night on my laptop and could not stop laughing.
These are from forever ago, but for some reason I never looked at em until now.
I'm pretty sure Logan and I spent an hour playing with photobooth- we took, like, 50 pictuers- but these ones are the best.
Especially the one of us in space.

8 yr old nephews are the best-
one minute they're picking your nose, and the next they're giving you a big kiss

Sore and Restless

Every now and then I get restless- and to combat that restlessness- I started to go running.
I just get the feeling that I want to pack a bag and get the heck out of wherever I am.
In college it wasn't uncommon for my roommates and me to take off last minute on a road trip, but now that I'm married and Jeff's in school and I spend all my time behind a desk, the whole last minute road trip thing doesn't really work out.
It's also a little disheartening that I'm getting this feeling so soon after coming back from Christmas in Idaho....but whatevs, it is what it is.
To combat said restlessness, I ended up overdoing it when I got home from work by going for an extra long run (confession: I haven't gone for a run in months), doing the shred workout, and finally doing a couple of my yoga dvds.
Needless to say, I am sore.
But it did sort of squelch my need to take a trip, probably because I was too exhausted to even think about one, but it worked!
and I think I'll keep up with this running/yoga thing- I kind of like how they're opposites, but still pretty challenging, I can not for the life of me, touch my toes right now- but I'm determined to work on it! Last night I decided that all the people in the dvd just had extra long monkey arms- but, I'm pretty sure I was just lying to myself.

see, that could totally be me- just give me a couple months of yoga and hopefully I'll at least be able to pull of looking this graceful...

Valentine's Day

This year V-Day was good.
It was chill and filled with flowers, chocolates and cake.

My dad never forgets to send me flowers on VDay.
Love my dad.

Jeff asked me the other day if I liked my roses. I just said yes cause it is true that I love my tulips- and I didn't want to burst his bubble that he got his flowers mixed up :)

I made that cute little heart thing in the background. Jeff thought I was a little nuts when I was tearing out old book pages- but I think it turned out cute.

We decided to celebrate the weekend before Valentines bc the week is always so rushed- so I made a yummy dinner, we went for a 3 hour walk (it was like 72 degrees and gorgeous), and that night we went and saw The Vow. We both loved it! And one of us totally cried- and it wasn't me :)

Before the movie I told Jeff the basic plot of the movie and asked him what he would do if the situation happened to us? (young married couple gets in accident and wife doesn't remember the last few years, including her husband) Jeff just looked at me like that was the dumbest question ever- he was like, "I would tell you I was your husband and I'd take you home-end of story. duhhhh"
haha, but after watching the movie he was soooo into it and could't stop talking about all the what if's for the rest of the night. It was great.

I realized this Valentines Day marks our 5th one together!
Carazy.

Our first date was in January of 2008
We became "official" like two days before Vday 2008
We got engaged a few days after Vday in February of 2009
We got married in June of 2009
Vday in 2010 had us celebrating with friends in a cabin in Park City
Vday in 2011 had us getting take-out from all our favorite places and watching The Bachelor
On the actual Vday this year- Jeff had an intermural bball game at 8pm and I stayed home and watched NCIS and ate chocolate hearts (but its all cool cause we celebrated earlier - also, I've already used the whole "remember on valentines day when I was cool with you playing bball with your friends- so yeah, i think you can be cool about taking the garbage out/doing the dishes"- i've used that twice so far and its only the 17th! need to pace myself on that one and only use it where it counts.
And we'll be celebrating 3 years of marriage this summer.
again, it feels carazy because time is moving by too fast!
We have so much fun being married and hanging out together- it never gets old. But I feel like this phase in our life can't last forever so I would like it to slow down just a little.

oh yeah. here's my cake! i made it up as i went along- its raspberry vanilla cream cheese cream cake. yum.

Mike Came to Visit

Life has been moving super fast lately- which I am so okay with- however, I am behind on blogging. Before I can get to v-day fun though, I want to post about Mike's trip visit everyone here in Texas.
Taking pictures was a big fail for me- so the only pics I have are all from Jeff's phone.
Jeff's sneaky and takes random blurry candid shots.
Also- there are literally no looking at the camera and smiling pictures from the whole weekend lol how did that happen? It's not like Mike comes out to Texas all the time- I def should've documented this better. but oh well. This is what we have....
Logan and Taylor showing sibling love/ oh hey me

oh hey mike
Friday night we all went bowling, stuffed our faces with pizza and nachos and played lazer tag.
Friday night was awesome.

On Saturday we went to Logan's bball game- he was a monster. He had the biggest shot blocks and made some awesome baskets- we were all so proud.
After the game we cuddled on the couch and apparently Taylor brought us something....food? Probably, but I have no memory of this moment.
go tay

Saturday night, Eric and Ann got a sitter for the kiddos and we all went to the temple. It was so great to all be there together. Mike's going on his mission soon to Brazil, so it was fun to be in there with him before he leaves. After the Temple, Eric took us all out for dinner at a delicious seafood/steakhouse type place. We had primetime seating next to the lobsters.

and this gem. Not sure what's going on- but I can tell from my outfit that I'm at church.
After church we all got in sweats, ate ridiculously yummy food and watched the superbowl. I was rooting for the Giants because I don't like Giselle (so valid) and Jeff was rooting for the Patriots bc....I think he thought they were going to win and he likes to be a winner.
We all had a great time relaxing to the max.
It was so nice to hang out with Mike and the Cooks all weekend!

and because we are very lame and didn't take one brother shot before Mike leaves for two years- this is our last picture together. perfect.
