Halloween Fun

Halloween this year was so fun!

I got a serious kick out of dressing up Ava as an elephant.

Cutest elephant. ever.

There was a cute pink and white striped body suit to go underneath the costume, but it didn't fit :)

* funny story- my best cousin friend Erin and I dressed up our little girls in the exact same elephant costume, without either of us knowing, and then we both dressed up as a cheetah cat. Again- all without either of us knowing. We have a cousin connection I guess. I love it! Once when we were teenagers, we bought the exact same super awesome swimsuit in different states and then showed up at the family reunion wearing them without consulting each other. I just love her- and wish we lived closer!!!

Over all of the Halloweens that Jeff and I have had together- we've never carved pumpkins. We both think that pumpkin guts are gross and smell bad. However, this year, we decided we had to so we could stick Ava between some carved pumpkins and take a picture. So, after Ava went to bed we covered our noses and held our breath and got carving.

Carving pumpkins is harder than I remembered- so they're not great. However, we did it! And Ava makes them look cute.

We had a lot of fun at the party- Thanks for throwing it, Jen! 

And I spent Halloween night at home alone not handing out candy because for the third year in a row- we got NO trick-or-treaters (and Jeff's in Florida). I wasn't going to buy candy this year, but then I thought how the one year I'm not prepared is when we'll get trick-or-treaters, so I bought a bag of candy....and yup, no trick-or-treaters. Dang. Guess I'll have to eat all the candy :)-

Old Man Baby PJs

These pajamas are cute and girly but....they come with a matching hat and for some reason she reminds me of an old man in pjs from a book I read as a little kid. 

She still looks really cute though.

Walks and Parks and More Walks...

Last week the weather was the bomb. 

70's and 80's people.

Which means this girl has been loving it!

However, today it's been raining all morning- good thing we took advantage of the weather last week! 

Ha, at the end of some of our walks we stop and I'll lay out a blanket and let her roll around and grab at all the grass. She loves grabbing at grass. Somehow it always gets in her hair so after the park I spend a solid five minutes picking out all of the little twigs and dead pieces of grass....I feel like we're monkeys and I'm grooming her...which I guess I kind of am so....yeah.

this is my favorite place to walk- but I have to drive to get there so

 I probably only go on this walk once a week.

*Ava Rees* 5 Months

So I'm a little late with this post- but I've been busy! I can't really think of what I've been doing but....I know that my days are all kind of blurring together. This last month has flashed by- but I'm having so much fun with Ava that life has been really good. 

This last month has seen us go on a lot of walks. A lot. We go out two or three times a day. We love to get out of the apartment and the weather has been so great lately that it's been a dream. Ava's also really good about falling asleep wherever when she gets tired so we can walk around for a few hours and she'll still get her nap. 

Ava has also started sitting up like a champ. She used to fall over a lot, but today she stayed up the whole time she was playing with her toys and only fell over when she saw me and got excited.

Ava's full of smiles and laughs and is really just the sweetest lil babe. She'll be in her excersaucer playing, stop for a minute and look over at me until she catches my eye and then smile while letting out a squeal and going back to playing. 

Baby girl is still growing like crazy! 

She's currently in 9-12 month pants, 6-9 month tops, and 12 month pajamas. Girl has some long legs- they're also pretty chubby. 

I LOVE them.

I feel like her head also doubled in size recently. Only a few of her hair bows fit anymore- Most of the ones she wears were all gifts, and now I have to figure out how to make her some new ones :/

Her drool has really been out of control. It just completely soaks her shirt and her chin constantly has a drool rash/is red so I'm always putting cream on it. While I was playing with her on the ground the other day some of her drool dropped into my mouth....I wasn't as grossed out as I thought I'd be. I mean, I wasn't like, hey do that again! but....it wasn't that bad.

It probably gets old to other people, but Jeff and I still cannot stop saying how cute she is all day and all night long. Jeff's already said it three times tonight lol We just kiss her cheeks 24/7. 

The other day we were coming home from church and I was snuggling her as I was walking up the stairs to our apartment and Jeff goes, "I think Ava must be the most loved baby on the planet. 

Think about it- we love on her all day, and since she doesn't sleep, we love on her all night! 

She's a lucky baby. Actually, maybe that new royal baby is more loved...no wait,

 he probably has nannies, Ava's definitely the most loved." 

haha I kind of love that Jeff's aware of the new royal baby.

So yes, Ava, day or night, you are loved - so very much.
