Lake Tahoe Part 2

The lake this year was great! I actually got in. ha.
Mountain lakes are just a tad colder than swimming pools ;)
For the most part, we hung out in the shade on the beach underneath a giant canopy and relaxed.
Ava was pretty good at relaxing. And when she wanted to be walked around- there were plenty of people to do it!

chill baby

cousin selfies :)

My dad's always the bravest and goes in first

Ava got a lot of Grandma time in :)

on another day we went to a beach on the south side- we rented bikes, but Ava and I mostly chilled on the sand

what up?

and now some dorky bike pics :)

fyi- Jordan wasn't posing for this picture
- that's just how he was standing while waiting for our bikes to be paid for- so sassy.

This was the last day at the beach.
The little babe was all tuckered out. I had been walking her back and forth on the sand trying to get her to fall asleep while the others finished their bike ride, but she waited until Jeff came back and the moment I gave her to him she conked right out. stinker.

Our last morning in Tahoe. We had all just woken up so....not our best family picture. Usually we take sunset pictures but this year we wimped out on the last night because it was cold and windy.
we were pansies.
Right after this picture we packed up and took off for my Grandma's house down in Concord.
I love my Grandma's house even more than Tahoe- but Tahoe was so much fun and we look forward to it every time. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the fun vacation!

Lake Tahoe - Part 1

We're back! It took us a little longer to get back than we had planned but Ava and I flew in last Thursday morning and we've spent the last few days catching up on our sleep :)
Needless to say we took a million pictures- I will try not to post all of them, but I make no promises ;)
We always split our time at Tahoe between the place we stay at and the lake. This first part is what we got up to around our condos.
For the most part that just includes a lot of swimming, hiking, tennis and hanging out.

all ready for the airport!

I finally put some shoes on her -
some super cute sparkly glitter ones that garnered a lot of compliments from the other passengers-
I want them in my size

just being an angel babe during her first day of traveling

and from the moment we arrived there was no shortage of people willing to love on baby Ava

The first morning we were there Ava woke up at 6:00 am
don't babies know to adjust to the time difference when traveling??? guess not.
and because she was wanting to get up and play- I woke my parents up to go for an early morning hike. They didn't mind me banging on their door once I showed them their granddaughter :)

Later that morning Erin and I hiked up to the gym to work on our fitness

Jordan got some uncle time in at the tennis courts

The morning we all played tennis was great! The weather was perfect and we weren't that bad. Of course, Jeff was my doubles partner so... it didn't really matter what I did, I knew he wouldn't let us lose .

The next morning Jeff joined us on our hike. It was pretty uneventful and we just swung on some old ski lifts until about halfway back from our hike, little miss Ava demanded to eat right then and there. She was hysterical- it was so weird because I had just fed her- anyways, I just plopped down on a rock and had to feed her- at least the view from up in the mountains was great! lol

And the pool....

haha look at that face! all ready to go swimming

Everly was so fun to watch- it made me excited for when Ava's running around

another day another swimsuit...

funny babe. ready for her close-up

I already miss this vacation!

Ava Rees *3 Months*

My baby girl is 3 months old today.

This past month has been pretty good for the most part.
The good part: she seems to be doing something new and exciting every single day.
The bad part: my super sleeper baby has gone MIA and been replaced with a babe who hates sleep.
But lets focus on the good.

My little sweetheart has gotten even more smiley. She loves, loves, loves her tongue- and she'll stick it out for you while she's giving a big grin or she'll just let it hang out while she's playing with her toys. She's like the Michael Jordan of babies when it comes to her tongue hanging out.
Ava has just started smacking her lips. It's super loud!
And she does it all the time- whether she's hungry or not.
She'll also chew on her lips and gets her whole bottom lip inside her mouth.
Ava has also become a drool monster- she seems to have swapped out spitting up for drooling so....either way my clothes are always a mess :)
She's become much more vocal. She's started "singing" along when Jeff or I sing to her. It's adorable and kind of hilarious.

One funny thing she does is take a long Sunday nap. It's like she knows that Sunday afternoons are made for naps. She hates napping every other day of the week but on Sundays she'll sleep for a solid three hours in the afternoon. It's awesome/funny/weird/and exasperating that she won't nap for longer than 30 minutes on any other day.
I guess church wears her out.

Ava also likes to watch me do my workout video- she gets a kick out of it. She's like my little cheerleader- she chills in her bouncy seat and grins up at me as I'm bouncing around getting my 30 Day Shred on.
On Sunday we head to Lake Tahoe to see my family and have some fun.
 I. Can. Not. Wait.
I'm really excited for Ava to meet everyone- I'm not so excited about the plane ride.
Everyone says this is the easy age for plane rides because your baby will just sleep......but what if you have a mutant baby who hates sleep???? Oh well! It'll be worth it once we get there!

I'm loving this girl more and more every single day. She really is such a sweetheart.
I'm so very lucky to call her mine.
